About

Welcome to my website! My name is Ken Fenimore and I am a Philadelphia-based Instructional Designer.

In Seoul, South Korea, there is a highway tunnel that cuts underneath a hill west of the Han-gang River. This hill and the surrounding neighborhood is called Kkachisan (까치산) which translates to Magpie Mountain. I lived at the base of this hill for 5 years and would often trek through its forest trails. I found the magpies in South Korea inspiring for my work as an educator/designer/project manager.

Magpies and great design share a lot in common. They both embody incredible beauty and display a great deal of intelligence and self-awareness. When expertly implemented, wonderful design is almost invisible and often overlooked. Similar to a magpie which could be mistaken for a crow or another common bird until it spreads its wings to reveal iridescent tones of green, dark blues, and purple.

In this spirit of subtle, thoughtful form and function, I use the magpie as an icon for my online presence. For over 10 years, I have been designing and managing the production/implementation of educational projects for learners of all ages throughout the world and within the fields of healthcare, business, and education.
